Walking Tour of Charlottetown PEI

The walking tour of Charlottetown commences on the waterfront at Confederation Landing. 

From there, you’ll advance toward Great George Street. The street is famous for its rich and unique architecture and beautifully-preserved Georgian buildings. On one side of the street, you can marvel at the Georgian architecture while on the other side you can praise the beautiful Gothic Revival architecture. As you are walking down the street, you will come across landmarks like the Basilica Cathedral and the Bishop’s Palace.

Then, you can explore the grounds of the city’s famous Province House. It is also regarded as the place of origin of the Confederation. Then, you can head over to Victoria Row. The area is famous for its entertainment opportunities, artisan shops, local artists, farm-to-table cafes and restaurants, and much more.  

You will then continue toward the iconic Confederation Centre of the Arts. The world-famous play Anne of Green Gables has been running here for several years. Then, your walking tour will take you to several renowned destinations including the Confederation Court Mall, Richford Square, and City Hall before you head to the iconic government buildings of Prince Edward Island.  

The government buildings serve as a beautiful example of Brutalist architecture. You can also pay a visit to the famous Government House of PEI and the Beaconsfield Historic House. Then, you will cross the Victoria Boardwalk and be guided back to the starting point.
