Day 1 - The Famous Golden Circle
On the first day of our 4-day tour, we'll visit the famous Golden Circle and its attractions: Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss Waterfall, and Geysir Geothermal Area.
Most people say that if you genuinely want to understand Iceland and its way of life, you have to visit Thingvellir. The place, nestled between the two tectonic plates, is considered the nation's birthplace. It is where the early laws were made, and all the important gatherings happened in the old days bc to the Viking Age. It is also a unique geological place where you can witness North American and Eurasian tectonic plates drifting apart!
Next on our route is Gullfoss, or Golden Falls in English. This is probably the most iconic and most visited waterfall in Iceland. The water from the Hvita river falls in two stages, creating a beautiful and mighty cascade.
Geysir Geothermal Area is home to Strokkur, Iceland's most active hot spring. This hot spring, called the famous Geysir's "little brother," erupts the boiling water every 5 to 10 minutes!
After this eventful day, we'll spend our first night at Adventure Hotel Geirland, located near the small town called Kirkjubæjarklaustur.

- Geysir hot spring area

Day 2 - Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Skaftafell Nature Reserve
We'll start our day with a nutritious breakfast and then head towards the famous Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach nearby. The lagoon is full of floating icebergs of various sizes and shapes. The icebergs are drifting toward the Atlantic ocean. Some ice crystals are washed into the Diamond Beach, creating a beautiful contrast with the black sand.
After visiting Jokulsarlon, we'll head to the Skaftafell Nature Reserve, where we will visit the visitor’s center and learn more about the national park and the glaciers.
During our visit to Skaftafell Nature Reserve, we'll also hike to the nearby Svartifoss waterfall. The waterfall is famous for its surrounding basalt columns.
After an amazing glacier hike, we'll visit Katla Ice Cave, the only ice cave in Iceland that can be visited year-round. So, even if you come during the summer season, you have a chance to experience an ice cave. Since the temperature in the ice cave is always below zero, we advise you to dress warmly.
Our accommodation for the night will be at the Adventure Hotel Geirland.

Our next stop will be at the iconic Eldhraun lava field, which appeared after the powerful volcanic eruption.
Then, our South Coast tour will continue at Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, a place where you'll be able to see the force of the Atlantic Ocean. The waves can be very unpredictable here, so you'll have to be cautious and follow your guide's instructions at all times.
After visiting Reynisfjara, we'll take our tour to the impressive 60-meter Skógafoss waterfall. There are 527 steps next to the fall, leading to a fantastic panoramic view from the top.

The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and therefore we can unfortunately never promise that they will be seen on your tour. Their appearance depends upon atmospheric and weather conditions. The best time to see the lights is between September - March when it’s a dark and clear sky. The sky needs to be as dark as possible, so the best places to see them are well away from the city lights.
Most of the hotels on our tours are remotely located and therefore ideal to spot the northern lights. If the forecast is in our favor, then it is very likely that you will be able to see the northern lights. Most of the hotels offer a Northern Lights wake-up call upon request if lights are spotted, so it is more likely that you will see the lights on a multi-day tour!
The pickup time is stated on your voucher and therefore we recommend you to review your voucher carefully. We ask all participants to be ready from the start of the pickup time indicated as you may well be the first pick up of the day. Please be at your assigned location at the right pick up time that you chose when booking the tour.
Wait for your guide at your assigned pick up location.
Have your email and phone number listed with us so we can contact you if we run into any trouble finding you.

After the activities of the day are finished then you are more than welcome to have a drink and relax.

If you booked the tour via booking agent than you will need to contact them directly to receive the refund. We will confirm with them about your canceled tour and then the refund process will start on their end. Extreme Iceland only receives the payment when the tour has finished, that means that your payment still remains with the booking agent and therefore, the refund can only be processed directly from their end.
The minimum age requirement is decided by our operational managers and is dependent on each activity and its difficulty ratings and can, therefore, vary between tours We put great value towards safety for our customers and the minimum age policy falls under this. Therefore we can not accommodate a person that has not reached the age limit on the tour.
We ask you to try to understand that this is based on safety procedures and we can therefore unfortunately not make any exceptions on this rule.
We can unfortunately not accommodate you and your group if the number of your group extends the number of available seats left on the tour. Our website shows the correct number of available seats left. It is impossible to squeeze additional participants onto sold out departures as we have really strict policy measures as to how many participants are assigned to each guide on our tour departures. Therefore we hope that you understand as this is of course done with our customer's safety in mind.
