Icelandic Lava Show - Admission Tickets

At first everything will seem normal – we will be in a smallish, dark room with a furnace in the center. Then suddenly a beam of vivid orange light will begin to illuminate the room as molten lava pours from a small hole on ice – you will see it bubbling and fizzing as it flows out; feel its awesome heat on your face; and see the beautiful shapes that it forms as it starts to cool. There is no better way to appreciate the majestic power of this incredible natural phenomenon and you are bound to gain a new respect for the violent volcanic forces that helped to craft our world. The friendly person doing the demonstration will tell you how they produce the molten lava and teach you more about this amazing natural process. This makes the Icelandic Lava Show an educational entertainment experience like no other - the perfect way to see something that few others will lay eyes on.

The Icelandic lava show is managed by Júlíus and Ragnhildur – a husband and wife team, who got up close and personal with the 2010 Fimmvörðuháls eruption. The incredible power of the event – as the molten rock flowed across the pristine white snow was unlike anything that they had ever seen before. An epic conflict between fire and ice, which stimulated all their senses – the​ violent heat they felt on their skin, the otherworldly sounds caused by the rock hardening and the air escaping, the vivid orange lava flow against the white blanket of snow and the acrid smells that the lava gave off.

They wanted to share this incredible experience with the world, however, volcanic eruptions are dangerous, and no responsible entertainment provider would take large groups of people close to them. Thus, they decided to create a show, that would recreate this experience in much safer conditions and the idea of the lava show was born.
