2-Day Dry Suit Certification Course in Silfra

The first day of the tour is all about learning, as our expert diving instructors teach you how to safely dive in a Dry Suit. In the morning we will be in the classroom, where we will learn about diving theory, how to communicate underwater and how to manage your equipment. Finally, you will be let out into Lake Kleifarvatn or Lake Thingvallavatn for guided open water dives to test your skills. Once, you have completed all the dives and passed the course you will receive your Dry Suit Specialty Certification.

Day 2 begins with another pick-up from Reykjavik that takes you straight to Silfra. You, now a certified dry suit diver, will then strap on your gear for guided dive into the famous Silfra Fissure.

You will descend into the crystal clear waters of the underwater canyon. Then make your way down the fissure marveling at the rugged volcanic walls and multicolored vegetation. Enjoy 325 feet (100 meters) visibility in the surprisingly cold waters between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. All that's left is to scratch Silfra and your Dry Suit Certification off your bucket list on the short ride back to Reykjavik.

• The minimum age limit for the dry suit diver course is 18.
• Your PADI Open Water Diver Certification or equivalent from any recognized diving organization.
• In order to participate in this course, you will also need to complete a PADI Medical Form. If you have any concerns about this prior to the course please ask us for a copy before committing to the course.

• Save time. Study the PADI Dry Suit Speciality Manual and fill out the Knowledge Reviews section prior to the start of the course.
• Again, please bring your PADI Open Water Diving Certification or equivalent from any recognized diving organization. Without your certification, you will not be allowed to dive.
• Day 1 does not include a dry suit dive in the Silfra Fissure as training courses are not allowed in the fissure.
