Imagine walking around with the whales underwater! Whales of Iceland, Reykjavík’s spectacular whale museum, gives you the opportunity to do just that. Its permanent exhibition consists of life-size models of all 23 whale species ever found in Icelandic waters, including the gigantic blue whale, the largest animal to have ever existed, a massive sperm whale, the largest toothed predator on our planet, and other iconic species such as orcas and the endangered North Atlantic right whale. Each one has been painstakingly hand-painted, ensuring that they accurately depict what whales look like in their natural habitat.

While wandering around with the giants of the deep, visitors can learn all about them with the complimentary audio guide, available in 12+ languages. When combined with the multiple interactive educational exhibits, informational displays for every species, and spectacular documentaries and footage of whales played on a huge cinema screen throughout the day, Whales of Iceland is truly a BIG experience!
